A sound financial plan for retirement can’t be designed unless you have a clear view of what retirement is going to look like. Most of us are clear on what we are retiring from, but do we know what we are retiring to? I have three questions for you this week.

For what it’s worth, the Japanese have an interesting approach to retirement. Rather than using the word ‘retirement’, the concept they buy into is that of a ‘Second Life’. For your ‘second life’, consider the following three questions:

  1. Who is directly affected by the financial decisions you make?
  2. If you knew everything about tomorrow, what would you do differently today?
  3. What changes in your family may affect your financial plan in the future?

Reflecting on the answers to these questions, are you on track right now?

Drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.
